Care for the fabric on your cushions is important to keep them looking their best. FiberBuilt uses Sunbrella furniture grade solution dyed acrylics for cushions, pillows and poufs. While these fabrics are produced with a soil, stain, and mildew resistant finish, proper attention and maintenance is recommended to keep your furnishings in top shape. Cleaning procedures are simple and there’s no need to take the fabric off the cushion.

There are some simple tricks to help with spot treatments.

Tip #1 – For liquid spills, always blot. Don’t rub. Rubbing will only force the stain deeper into the fibers. Use a clean towel or sponge to gently remove the liquid. If there’s any residual spills, use lukewarm water with a little mild soap and a sponge to help lift the offending spill. Rinse generously and air dry. If it doesn’t completely come out we recommend reviewing the helpful information located at the website of Sunbrella

Tip #2 – For oil-based spills (such as butter, salad dressing or suntan lotion) immediately apply an absorbent such as cornstarch directly onto the stain. Let it soak of the oil for 10 minutes, then carefully lift the spill and cornstarch with a straight edge such as a ruler. This will allow you to remove the substance without pressing the oily contents deeper into the material. Wash the residual spill with dishwashing/degreaser liquid (such as Dawn). Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry.

Tip #3 – When drying your cushions either for spot treatments or after regular/monthly cleaning, unzip the fabric cover and stand the cushions vertically on their side with the open side down. This will help the water drain more quickly. Never put them in the dryer.
